Nekocon is over, Ichibancon is next!
Whew, Nekocon sure was…something.
Our staff duties made it hard to enjoy any other events of the con. We were so busy helping out with the ribbon game and photoshoots, I had no time to go to the dealer’s room or artist’s alley except to stop by Wild Bill’s for a mug and some delicious cream soda and diet root beer. Mmm…
We did get to run two panels at this con, both for the first time: Let’s Talk About ‘Dex: Spooky Scary Edition and Create Your Own Pokémon (you can view our regional Pokédex here). We got some good feedback and we’ll try to incorporate it into future runs of these panels! I’m considering handing out colored index cards with letters on them for our next iteration of Let’s Talk About ‘Dex panels, so audience participation can be more varied and we have a kind of “hand raising” system, to make things easier on you and us.
Now that we’ve reviewed our last con, let’s talk about our next con!
Ichibancon!
Right after returning from Nekocon we received our first approvals from Ichibancon Weekend 1. We’ll officially be running the following panels:
We have been waitlisted for a few others, so we’ll update if those are approved.
This will be our first time hosting the latter two panels and I’ve been wanting to present Why Do We Like Cows? for ages, so this will be an exciting con for us!
On the photoshoot side, I’m still on the fence about hosing photoshoots at this con. I learned from Nekocon that I can do a few things, but probably not everything I want to do. If more panels are approved, I probably won’t host photoshoots (except maybe Danganronpa 1 day) so I don’t overextend myself again.
Can’t wait to see those of you attending Ichibancon! And I can’t wait to talk at you (and with you) about all things Pokémon and farm life sim.
